July 18th, 2010We had a fantastic night last Friday at the charity fashion show for Norway’s Next Top Model in aid of Baby Max-Wings of Love at Guinness Storehouse, Dublin.
The show which opened with Paul Costelloe was a total sell out where standing room only was even a squeeze!
Although I spent most of the time during the show back stage i have a little snip bit video here, with more to come later in the week.
Darina the mother of baby max, a truly wonderful and inspirational woman, who after losing her dear little son Max to meningitis only a short few years ago, has dedicated so much of her time now to raising funds for vital equipment etc for any child who falls ill from any illness, did a fantastic job with the whole night along with Jennifer Rothwell.
Thank you so much to everyone involved, and there were so many! It is so heartfelt and refreshing to see the good in so many people who so generously give their time and effort for something so important and so special…..to help in any way to save a child’s life. Any child, it doesn’t matter who, how minor or severe the situation may be….they are ALL worth the whole world to us all.
I will post more videos here as soon as Maureen O’Halloran (another angel who put in so much of her own time to help) has posted them on facebook.

LIFE magazine feature with Constance Harris 4th July 2010

Hope you all spotted the feature and 6 page spread the wonderful (and i have to say particularly lovely and extremely down to earth) Constance Harris did on Rebeka Kahn Artwear pieces in yesterday’s Sunday Independent LIFE magazine!
We had a very long day on Killiney beach for the photo shoot, really windy and not very warm! But I think the battle with the elements all paid off with a stunning model ‘Gabriela’ and a fantastic team from hair - Jane Akkerman, Make up - Aisling Powell, Clothing - Jennifer Rothwell and Shoes - Coze di Rose (Cabinteely Village, Co. Dublin).

Dublin Extends a FÁILTE to NORWAY’S TOP MODELS!
High profile TV fashion Event announced in aid of Baby Max Wings Of Love Fund in conjunction with FAILTE Ireland, Friday, 16th July at 7.30pm
Baby Max Wings Of Love Fund announced today that a high profile fashion show will take place at the Guinness Storehouse on Friday 16th July 2010.
This event will be filmed for a Dublin-based episode of Norway’s Top Model TV show. The programme, which will air on Norwegian TV, follows the same format as America’s Next Top Model. The Norwegian models will take part in a closed fashion catwalk task that day with surprise New York Celebrity Stylist and Jennifer Rothwell judging. The winner of this will take to the catwalk that night with some of Ireland’s top models at the charity fashion show, amongst them Sarah Morrissey, Yomiko Chen and Karen Fitzpatrick. All ten Norwegian models will also be present.
Some of Ireland’s top designers have already come on board, including Jennifer Rothwell, Orla Kiely, Mary Grant, Chesneau Luxury Bags, Fitzpatrick’s Shoes and Rebeka Kahn Artwear! Over the coming week it is expected a very high profile name will be announced to open the show. Stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick will MC the evening with Maire Ni Chuinneagain and Anne Morgan co ordinating the event.
This is a very exciting event and a marvellous achievement for both Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland, as the filming of this episode will showcase both Dublin city, a vibrant modern city, the Guinness Storehouse and the Irish fashion scene to a Norwegian audience. Tourism Ireland pitched for this opportunity against several other European cities, and Fáilte Ireland designed the itinerary for filming of the Dublin episode of Norway’s Top Model.
Guests at the event will not only get to see an amazing fashion show, but they will be in with a chance to win key designers pieces, and will receive a ‘Céad Míle Fáilte’ on arrival with complimentary food, drinks and high profile entertainment. Great spot prizes have been kindly donated from Richard Lewis, Orla Kiely, Jennifer Rothwell, Eileen Shields, John Rocha, Lainey Keogh, The Fitzwilliam Hotel and many more!
And it’s all for a good cause. All proceeds will go to the BABY MAX WINGS OF LOVE FUND (http://www.facebook.com/BabyMaxWingsOfLoveFund), founded and directed by Declan Donnelly and Darina Ní Chuinneagáin following the tragic death of their son Max.
Commenting on the event, Darina said “We are absolutely delighted to be working closely with all and for Baby Max Wings Of Love Fund to be the beneficiary for this high profile event. The proceeds will go towards purchasing all types of vital medical equipment for the Dublin Children’s Hospitals and Paediatric Units nationwide.
“To date as a result of donations, thousands of children’s lives have been helped and saved. Currently €200,000 worth of Cardiology Equipment in process in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin to be celebrated on the evening.
“We hope the filming of Norway’s Top Model at this event will draw a large audience and result in raising much more needed funds”.
